Intervention orders are civil orders that are used to maximise the safety of individuals as best as possible, to prevent and reduce offending behaviour, and to promote accountability of those behaviours.
There are two types of intervention orders that can be ordered by the Magistrates' Court:
Family Violence Intervention Orders - made to protect a person from family violence by a person who is a partner, ex-partner or family member.
Personal Safety Intervention Orders - made to protect a person from physical or mental harm, caused by a person who is not a family member.
We can assist you with both.
Whether you are applying for, or responding to, an intervention order application, we aim to provide our clients with personalised and caring advice, so that they can understand their options clearly and the possible outcomes.
